AT MCMANUS PUBS WE’RE FOCUSED ON BECOMING A NET ZERO BUSINESS
We’re shining a spotlight on our sustainability and ethical credentials at McManus Pub Company. As part of this, we’ve taken the following steps towards becoming a more environmentally conscious business.
Carbon Emission Measurement – We partnered with Net Zero Now to measure our current carbon emissions. By understanding this, we can highlight the main focus areas – beef, beer & electricity - and track our progress.
One Planet Plate – We embrace the One Planet Plate core principles where possible - celebrating local, a lower carbon footprint, more sustainable meat and fish sources and dishes with more vegetables. Ask your server for details on our menu!
Smart dispense – You’ll find Heineken Smart Dispense systems in all of our venues. These systems produce fresher, colder beers whilst saving energy and thousands of litres of water per year.
100% Green Electricity – We’re working with British Gas, who are providing us with Zero Carbon Electricity
WHAT'S NEXT?
Minimising food waste – We’re working with different partners to reduce our food waste.
Emphasis on Suppliers – We’re growing the number of suppliers that we work with who are focused on achieving Net Zero, such as current partners Purity Brewing and Sapling Vodka.
MCMANUS PUBS - OUR NET ZERO JOURNEY
Every business has a role in building a better future, employees expect it, and customers prefer it. The UK hospitality sector can play a unique role in familiarising the public with the national ambition of achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050.
